QUICK BEEF FLATBREAD APPETIZERS

How to Make It: Step-by-Step

Because this recipe moves quickly, it helps to have your ingredients measured out before you turn on the stove. The entire process takes less than twenty minutes from start to finish.

1- Brown and Season the Beef
5 minutes

Heat a splash of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1/2 pound of lean ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Season with 1 teaspoon of garlic powder1 teaspoon of dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink, then drain any excess grease.

2- Prep the Flatbread Base
2 minutes

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place 2 large pre-baked flatbreads or naan onto a large baking sheet. Lightly brush the tops with a touch of olive oil to help them get extra crispy.

3- Assemble the Layers
3 minutes

Sprinkle a thin layer of shredded mozzarella cheese directly onto the flatbreads. Spoon the warm, seasoned ground beef evenly over the cheese. Top the beef with another light handful of cheese to lock the meat in place.

4- Bake and Slice
8–10 minutes

Pop the flatbreads into the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges of the bread are golden-brown and the cheese is completely melted and bubbling. Remove from the oven, let it cool for two minutes, and use a pizza cutter to slice the flatbreads into bite-sized squares or triangles.

Chef's Twist: Immediately after taking the flatbreads out of the oven, garnish them with a scatter of fresh arugula, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, or a quick drizzle of balsamic glaze to add a bright, fresh contrast to the rich beef!
