1. The Built-In Openings (4 Holes)
Before a shirt is ever damaged, it inherently must have holes just so you can wear it. People often overlook these because they focus entirely on the rips:
The Neck: The collar opening at the top (1)
The Sleeves: The left and right arm openings (2)
The Waist: The large opening at the very bottom (1)
2. The Ripped Openings (4 Holes)
Now, look at the middle of the shirt. There are two obvious, ragged holes torn into the fabric. But here is the trick: you can see the wooden background right through them.
If the holes were only on the front side of the shirt, you would see the blue fabric of the back inside the shirt. Because you can see the wood grain of the wall clearly passing all the way through, it means these tears cut completely through both layers of fabric:
The Front Layer: Two torn holes in the front chest area (2)
The Back Layer: Two matching torn holes directly behind them in the back fabric (2)

When you sum up the standard openings and the accidental tears, the equation is simple:
4 (Standard Openings) + 2 (Front Tears) + 2 (Back Tears) = 8 Total Holes
