Soft, Gooey, and Filled with Classic Cinnamon Flavor
Few things are as comforting as a pan of homemade cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven. These old-fashioned cinnamon rolls feature soft, fluffy yeast dough, a buttery brown-sugar cinnamon filling, and a smooth cream cheese icing that melts beautifully over the warm rolls.
They do take a little time because the dough needs to rise, but every minute is worth it. The result is a warm, tender treat that's perfect for slow weekend mornings, holidays, brunches, or whenever you're craving something sweet and homemade.

How to Make Old-Fashioned Cinnamon Rolls
1. Prepare the Dough
Pour the warm milk into a large mixing bowl and stir in the yeast and a small pinch of the sugar. Let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes, until it becomes slightly foamy.
Add the melted butter, eggs, remaining sugar, salt, and about 2 cups of the flour. Mix until well combined. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
2. Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 5–8 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
Avoid adding too much extra flour. The dough should feel soft rather than stiff.
3. Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel.
Set the bowl somewhere warm and allow the dough to rise for about 1–1½ hours, or until it has doubled in size.
4. Make the Cinnamon Filling
While the dough rises, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
