🥜🍫 Pecan Dandy Do’s — The Old-Fashioned Treat That’s Impossible to Stop Eating!

🛒 What You’ll Need

🥜 2 cups pecan halves

🧈 2 tablespoons butter

🍬 1 cup soft caramels

🥛 2 tablespoons heavy cream

🍫 1½ cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips

🧂 A small pinch of salt

✨ Optional: flaky sea salt for topping

👩‍🍳 How to Make Them

1️⃣ Toast Those Pecans

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Spread the pecans on a baking sheet and toast them for about 6–8 minutes, just until fragrant.

Keep an eye on them—they can go from perfectly toasted to burnt surprisingly quickly!

Let them cool slightly.

2️⃣ Make Little Pecan Clusters

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Arrange the pecan halves in small clusters, leaving a little space between each one.

You don't need perfection here. In fact, those rustic little clusters are part of their charm. 🥰

3️⃣ Add the Caramel

Melt the caramels with the heavy cream and butter over low heat, stirring until smooth.

Spoon a little caramel over each pecan cluster.

Let it settle for a moment before moving on to the chocolate.

4️⃣ Bring on the Chocolate! 🍫

Melt the chocolate gently until smooth.

Spoon or drizzle it over the caramel-covered pecans.

For an extra pretty finish, sprinkle just a tiny bit of flaky sea salt over the chocolate while it's still soft.

5️⃣ Let Them Set

Place the tray in the refrigerator for about 20–30 minutes, or until the chocolate and caramel are firm.

Then comes the hardest part…

Trying not to eat half the batch before anyone else gets one. 😂

✨ Make Them Extra Special

Want to dress them up?

🍫 Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor.

🥜 Mix pecans with toasted almonds.

🧂 Add flaky sea salt for a sweet-and-salty twist.

🎄 Sprinkle with festive decorations for a holiday candy tray.

🎁 Wrap individual pieces in little candy papers for homemade gifts.

They also make a beautiful addition to cookie tins and dessert platters.

💡 A Little Tip

Don't rush the caramel.

Keep the heat gentle and stir until it's smooth. If the caramel gets too hot, it can become difficult to work with.

And make sure your pecans are nicely toasted—the extra few minutes bring out their buttery flavor and make these treats taste even more special.

❤️ The Kind of Candy That Brings People Back

There’s something wonderful about homemade pecan candy.

Maybe it’s the smell of toasted nuts.

Maybe it’s that first bite of chewy caramel and chocolate.

Or maybe it’s simply the memories these old-fashioned treats create when they're passed around a kitchen table during the holidays.

Whatever the reason, Pecan Dandy Do’s are the kind of candy that never seems to last long. 🥜🍫
