🥧🧀 Impossible Ham & Swiss Pie — The Easy, Cheesy Dinner That Practically Makes Its Own Crust!

🛒 What You’ll Need

🥩 1½–2 cups diced cooked ham

🧀 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

🧅 ½ cup finely chopped onion

🥚 4 large eggs

🥛 1½ cups milk

🌾 ¾ cup all-purpose flour

🧈 2 tablespoons melted butter

🧂 ½ teaspoon salt

🌶️ ¼ teaspoon black pepper

🌿 A pinch of dried parsley or your favorite herbs

👩‍🍳 How to Make It

1️⃣ Prepare the Filling

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Grease a 9-inch pie dish, then scatter the diced ham and chopped onion evenly across the bottom.

Sprinkle the Swiss cheese over the top. 🧀

2️⃣ Make the Batter

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, flour, melted butter, salt, pepper, and herbs.

Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

3️⃣ Pour & Bake

Slowly pour the batter over the ham and cheese.

Don’t worry if it looks very liquid at this point—that’s exactly what you want!

Bake for about 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.

4️⃣ Let It Rest

Give the pie about 5–10 minutes to cool before slicing.

That short wait helps everything settle and makes those beautiful slices much easier to serve. 😋

✨ Easy Ways to Change It Up

Want to make it your own?

🥦 Add a handful of cooked broccoli.

🫑 Toss in diced bell peppers.

🍄 Add sautéed mushrooms.

🧀 Swap some of the Swiss for cheddar.

🌿 Add a little Dijon mustard or fresh herbs for extra flavor.

And if you have leftover ham after a holiday dinner, this is an especially delicious way to give it a second life. ❤️

💡 One Little Tip

Don’t overfill the pie dish. The batter needs room to surround the filling and form that tender crust-like layer as it bakes.

For the best texture, let the finished pie rest briefly before cutting. The result should be soft and savory inside with a lightly golden edge.
