🛒 What You’ll Need
For the Cookies:
🧈 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
🍚 3/4 cup brown sugar
🥚 1 large egg
🍁 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
🌿 1 tsp vanilla extract
🌾 2 cups all-purpose flour
🥄 1/2 tsp baking soda
🧂 1/4 tsp salt
For the Maple Icing:
🍁 1 cup powdered sugar
🧈 2 tbsp melted butter
🍁 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
🥛 1–2 tbsp milk, as needed
👩🍳 How to Make Them
1️⃣ Get the oven ready
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
2️⃣ Make the cookie dough
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and smooth.
Add the egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix until everything is nicely combined. 🍁
3️⃣ Add the dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until a soft dough forms.
Try not to overmix—the goal is tender, soft cookies. ❤️
4️⃣ Scoop and bake
Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each cookie.
Bake for about 9–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
5️⃣ Make the maple icing
Whisk together the powdered sugar, melted butter, maple syrup, and enough milk to create a smooth, spreadable icing.
Drizzle or spread the maple icing over the cooled cookies. 🍁✨
Let the icing set for a few minutes—if you can resist eating one right away! 😋
✨ Make Them Your Own
🌰 Add chopped pecans or walnuts
🍫 Mix in a handful of white chocolate chips
🍁 Sprinkle a tiny pinch of cinnamon into the dough
🥜 Add toasted pecans for extra crunch
✨ Finish with a light dusting of powdered sugar
💡 A Little Tip
For the best maple flavor, use pure maple syrup rather than pancake syrup.
And be sure to let the cookies cool before icing them. If they’re too warm, that beautiful maple icing can melt right off! 🍁
