🛒 What You’ll Need
For the Pecan Log:
🧈 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
🍚 1 cup powdered sugar
🥛 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
🌿 1 tsp vanilla extract
🧂 Pinch of salt
🍬 3 cups powdered sugar, plus more as needed
🌰 2 cups finely chopped pecans
👩🍳 How to Make It
1️⃣ Prepare your pecans
Finely chop the pecans and spread them onto a large piece of parchment paper.
Set them aside—you'll be rolling the finished log through these beautiful crunchy nuts later. 🌰
2️⃣ Make the sweet filling
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy.
Add the powdered sugar, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and salt.
Mix until everything is well combined and a soft, thick mixture forms.
3️⃣ Add more powdered sugar
Gradually add the remaining powdered sugar, mixing until the mixture becomes firm enough to shape.
If it feels too sticky, add a little more powdered sugar, one tablespoon at a time.
4️⃣ Shape the log
Place the mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper.
Using your hands, gently shape it into a long log about 2 inches in diameter.
Wrap it tightly in parchment paper and gently roll it to smooth the shape.
Refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours, or until firm enough to handle easily.
5️⃣ Roll it in pecans
Unwrap the chilled log and gently roll it through the chopped pecans.
Press the pecans lightly into the surface so they stick all the way around. 🌰🤎
6️⃣ Slice and serve
Using a sharp knife, cut the pecan log into about 1/2-inch slices.
Arrange the slices on a pretty serving plate and enjoy!
✨ Make It Your Own
🌰 Toast the pecans before using them for deeper flavor
🍫 Drizzle the finished log with melted chocolate
🥥 Add a little shredded coconut to the pecans
🍁 Add a touch of maple flavoring
✨ Sprinkle the finished slices with powdered sugar
🍒 Add a maraschino cherry to the serving platter for a festive touch
💡 A Little Tip
Chilling the mixture is important.
If the log feels too soft or sticky when you're trying to shape it, simply return it to the refrigerator for another 30 minutes.
And don't worry about making the log perfectly shaped—once it's covered in those beautiful chopped pecans, it will look wonderfully homemade. ❤️
